The United States entered the war in 1917 after much debate between President Wilson and the government, Wilson's was always saying "I kept us out of the War during my first presidency and ill do it again if I am elected." The United States entering the war became a huge advantage for the Allied powers who had been worn out from fighting for the past three years.

The pictures above are the front page of "The Stars and Stripe" newspaper. Near the left side middle section is says 13 million men are to be drafted for the war under a new draft. This newspaper is your standard informative article that people depended on to be educated on what was going on over seas during the war. It contains eye witness accounts from soldiers themselves like the section "seven days in dry shell hole" explaining some of the soldiers experiences during battle. This article was published in Paris, France by the American Expeditionary Force on August 3rd, 1918.
The Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28th, 1918 and officially ended World War One. The cartoon indicates how Germany was engulfed by everything that happened during the war and how it was their fault, according to the allies. The treaty blamed the whole war on Germany and made sure that Germany would pay for what they have done. Germany's military could not have more than 100,000 soldiers and 1000 officers, and they had to give what ever materials they came up with in the mines or what ever crops or live stock they could grow. The Treaty of Versailles devastated Germany's economy which let to a desperate nation looking for a leader to bring them out of their troubles, thus forth being a potential cause for World War 2.
